What Detailing Customers Are Saying ....

Detailing Cars - Paint Imperfections
"Kudos to Travis and Mark-Thank you for the SUPERB workmanship shown to my very ordinary vehicle-you made my car look extraordinarily good-it sold to the FIRST prospective buyer and Pristine made the sale happen! Thank you,"  Leslie G.

"Mark and Travis Fowler have detailed my 2007 Porsche 911 this past June and did an impeccable job. What I like is that they have extensive knowledge and experience of automotive paints and clear-coats. They remove only the amount needed in order to remove and repair scratches and swirls to the paint finish. I also had them do the leather interior and was impressed by the way in which they heat up the leather conditioner before applying it so that it is readily absorbed into the leather. My car looked, smelled, and felt like a new car when I picked it up after the work was done ! I highly recommend Pristine Detailing for their attention to detail, expertise, and honest assessment of your car’s needs."

What is Detailing? (Part II)

What is Detailing?
Give your vehicle the attention and care it deserves, we will help you.

Auto Polishing refers to using electric or pneumatic machine polishes, which can be rotary polishers which have a constant direct spinning action (direct drive) or dual action polisher (which uses a random orbital action plus rotary action) this is called forced rotation. Specific polishing pads (foam, wool or microfiber) remove microns of clear coat from a vehicle in order to remove fine scratches, swirls marks, oxidation and other imperfections from a paint surface produced from improper washing techniques, drying techniques and other possible causes.

Protecting involves the application of a clear coatings (in liquid form) that prevents foreign matter (contaminants, pollution) from adhering to the surface of your vehicle, including minerals in water, bugs splatter, tar, and dirt. Then using a sealant to help stop contaminants embedding back into your paintwork, windows, wheels and trim. A maintenance program will aid in longer protection for your vehicle.

Do you want a lasting finish on your car, boat, motorcycle, or truck? We have a ceramic clear coating available. We use a couple of methods and one will definitely fit your budget. Ask us about the different treatments we use and what you can expect in terms of lasting protection.

Interior detailing involves a deep cleaning of the whole interior as well as the boot of the car. All of the dash area, panels, windows, seats and carpets are cleaned extensively. Vacuuming is standard, and steam cleaning, liquid cleaners, and brushes may be used to remove stains on upholstery. Some nonporous surfaces may also be polished. Some detailers remove seats and other interior components to provide the most thorough clean possible.

Do you have a bad odor issue in your vehicle? We have a odor treatment that removes almost all "stinky issues" we have encountered. Ask about the odors we have seen.

We offer engine detailing, in which steam, high pressure water, degreasers and all-purpose cleaners are used to clean under the hood of the vehicle.

Headlight Restoration
One result of the normal wear and tear on your vehicle is a reduction of your headlight strength. That is to say, almost every vehicle we service has some level of headlight degradation: hazy headlights, foggy headlights, or cloudy headlights. We provide headlight restoration that restores your headlights to a clear and shiny look.

What is Detailing? (Part I)

What is Detailing?
Removing scratches and imperfections without expensive body work.
"Detailing" refers to the systematic cleaning, rejuvenating and protecting of the exterior painted surfaces of a vehicle. The primary purpose for paint detailing is to retain the appearance of newer vehicles or to revitalize older neglected vehicles.

Cleaning is a preparatory step intended to remove dirt, dust, and other loose contaminants in order to allow full inspection of current paint conditions. Rejuvenation refers to the processes used to return a vehicle to its original showroom condition. The extent of rejuvenation is dependent on the customerʼs expectations. Protection refers to the maintenance processes such as waxing that are used to keep the vehicle looking new for as long as possible after detailing.

Custom detailing
We tailor our services to fit each individual vehicle that arrives into our shop. Over the years we have worked on, in some cases literally restored, a spectrum of vehicles that include vintage vehicles, exotic cars, specialty vehicles, along with the normal commuter and family sedans and an assortment of commercial vehicles.

Exterior detailing
We provide comprehensive exterior detailing that involves cleaning and bringing back the shine and gloss to the car's paintwork, chrome trim, windows, wheels, and tires as well as all other visible components on the exterior of a vehicle. Different detailers use different products and techniques to do this. Products include but are not limited to detergents, degreasers, acid free, detail clay, waxes, polishes, and a variety of applicators, brushes and special plush drying towels. The main components of exterior car detailing are preparation, the right polishes, and protecting.

Cleaning refers to the removal of all foreign surface particles from exterior surfaces through the use of the right products for your vehicle, water and washing and claying. A clay bar helps to remove all contamination/dirt from the surface and embedded particles in the clear coat that cannot be removed through washing such as bugs, tar, sap, overspray, and so forth.

Paint Correction done right without expensive body repair
Vehicle Paint Correction: we use special techniques and processes to enhance the paint and finish of your vehicle. Our services are based on extensive training and certification with specific tools.

Our detailing services includes paint scratch removal. To accomplish results with improving your vehicle paint and finish we work directly with the surface. In other words, we don't use filler products that change the fabric of your vehicle. Instead we deal directly with the painted surface to maximize a long lasting protection which also provides you with an authentic finish that won't peel, fade or blemish due to "filler" products. Stop by with your vehicle, we will be happy to provide you with an estimate for enhancing your paint.

Proper paint correction isn’t something that just anyone can do. And a matter of fact, it’s something that a very small percentage of people working with detailing services truly understand. Most factories, body shops, and even the majority of people working in the detailing industry aren’t aware of the level that can be achieved with paint refinement. It’s part science, part artistry, and part obsessive-compulsive behavior! No two jobs are the same, and each vehicle has its own unique set of needs. Because of this, it’s imperative that each situation is fully evaluated and the final process cannot be established without first testing different products, tools, and techniques to figure out what’s going to be the best solution for that particular car on that particular day.

Aston Martin, An Exotic Car With A Vivid History

Aston Martin, An Exotic Car With A Vivid History
Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.

From 1994 until 2007, Aston Martin was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, becoming part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group when it was formed in 2000. In March 2007, a consortium of investors led by Prodrive boss David Richards purchased 90% of Aston Martin for £479 million, with Ford retaining a £40 million stake. In December 2012, the Italian private equity fund Investindustrial signed a deal to buy 37.5% of Aston Martin, investing £150 million as a capital increase.

In 1947, tractor manufacturer David Brown Limited bought the company under the leadership of managing director Sir David Brown—its "post-war saviour". The company also acquired Lagonda that year for its 2.6-litre W. O. Bentley-designed engine. Both companies shared resources and workshops, birthing the classic "DB" series of cars. In 1950, the company announced the DB2, followed by the DB2/4 in 1953, the DB2/4 MkII in 1955, the DB Mark III in 1957 and the Italian-styled 3.7 L DB4 in 1958.

<< We do engine detailing and custom detailing. Ask us for more information. >>

Ford placed Aston in the Premier Automotive Group, invested in new manufacturing and ramped up production. In 1994, Ford opened a new factory at Banbury Road in Bloxham. In 1995, the company produced a record 700 vehicles. Until the Ford era, cars had been produced by hand coachbuilding craft methods, such as the English wheel. In 1998 the 2,000th DB7 was built, and in 2002 the 6,000th, exceeding production of all previous DB models. The DB7 range was boosted by the addition of V12 Vantage models in 1999, and in 2001 the company introduced the V12-engined Aston Martin Vanquish.

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in 2003, Aston Martin introduced the AMV8 Vantage concept car. Expected to have few changes before its introduction in 2005, the Vantage brought back the classic V8 engine to allow the company to compete in a larger market. 2003 also saw the opening of the Gaydon factory, the first purpose-built factory in Aston Martin's history. Also introduced in 2003 was the DB9 coupé, which replaced the ten-year-old DB7. A convertible version of the DB9, the DB9 Volante, was introduced at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show.

Bring your vehicle new life, especially in winter months

water smart detailing
The basic level of detailing is cleaning. This refers to the removal of all foreign surface particles from exterior surfaces through the use of the right products for your vehicle, water and washing and claying. A clay bar helps to remove all contamination/dirt from the surface and embedded particles in the clear coat that cannot be removed through washing such as bugs, tar, sap, overspray, and so forth.

Pristine Detailing Services provides professional vehicle detailing at their shop at 1890 Highway 99 North in Ashland, Oregon. They are a member of the Air Force One Detailing Team. They specialize in water smart detailing and offer gift certificates for all of their services.

One of our most sought after services is headlight restoration. This is the process of removing the tint, fog, and cloudiness that appear in headlight lenses from normal wear and tear.  We can restore your headlights to their pristine state to give you a sharper night driving vision.

Detailing a 65 Cobra

 Detailing a 65 Cobra
We do engine detailing and custom detailing services.

Like many British specialist manufacturers, AC Cars had been using the Bristol straight-6 engine in its small-volume production, including its AC Ace two-seater roadster. This had a hand-built body with a steel tube frame, and aluminum body panels that were made using English wheeling machines. The engine was a pre-World War II design of BMW which by the 1960s was considered dated. Bristol decided in 1961 to cease production of its engine and instead to use Chrysler 331 cu in (5.4 L) V8 engines. AC started using the 2.6 litre Ford Zephyr engine in its cars.

In September 1961, American automotive designer Carroll Shelby airmailed AC a letter asking them if they would build him a car modified to accept a V8 engine. AC agreed, provided a suitable engine could be found. Shelby went to Chevrolet to see if they would provide him with engines, but not wanting to add competition to the Corvette they said no.

However, Ford wanted a car that could compete with the Corvette and they happened to have a brand new engine which could be used in this endeavor: Ford's 260 in³ HiPo (4.2 L) engine – a new lightweight, thin-wall cast small-block V8 tuned for high performance. Ford provided Shelby with two engines. In January 1962 mechanics at AC Cars in Thames Ditton, Surrey fitted the prototype chassis CSX0001 with a 260 ci Ford V8 borrowed from Ford in the UK; the 221 ci was never sent. However, early engineering drawings were titled "AC Ace 3.6".  (Wikipedia)

Detailing: Alfa Romeo

Detailing: Alfa Romeo
The company that became Alfa Romeo was founded as SocietĂ  Anonima Italiana Darracq (SAID) in 1906 by the French automobile firm of Alexandre Darracq, with some Italian investors. One of them, Cavaliere Ugo Stella, an aristocrat from Milan, became chairman of the SAID in 1909. The firm's initial location was in Naples, but even before the construction of the planned factory had started, Darracq decided late in 1906 that Milan would be more suitable and accordingly a tract of land was acquired in the Milan suburb of Portello, where a new factory of 6,700 square metres (8,000 sq yd) was erected.

Detailing: Alfa RomeoLate 1909, the Italian Darracq cars were selling slowly and Stella, with the other Italian co-investors, founded a new company named A.L.F.A. (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili), initially still in partnership with Darracq. The first non-Darracq car produced by the company was the 1910 24 HP, designed by Giuseppe Merosi, hired in 1909 for designing new cars more suited to the Italian market. Merosi would go on to design a series of new A.L.F.A. cars, with more powerful engines (40-60 HP). A.L.F.A. ventured into motor racing, with drivers Franchini and Ronzoni competing in the 1911 Targa Florio with two 24 HP models. In 1914, an advanced Grand Prix car was designed and built, the GP1914, with a four-cylinder engine, double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and twin ignition. However, the onset of the First World War halted automobile production at A.L.F.A. for three years. (wikipedia).

Opti-Coat: lasting protection for any vehicle's paint

Opti-Coat: lasting protection for any vehicle's paint
Opti-Coat is not a paint protection wax or sealant that will wash away, or break down over time. Opti-Coat bonds with the factory coating, protecting the surface indefinitely and will not delaminate.

A single layer of Optimum Clear Coating measures approximately 2 microns in thickness. When compared to other paint protection products, Opti-Coat is more than 100 times thicker, with tests showing a wax coating measuring less than 0.02 microns.

This allows Opti-Coat to effectively absorb damage that would otherwise affect the factory paint layers. Swirl marks and light scratches are not only decreased by the harder Optimum Ceramic Coating, the factory paint is protected and preserved.

Opti-Coat is completely resistant to acidic environmental substances such as bird droppings. Unlike your factory clear coating that can be permanently damaged, Opti-Coat will not etch or dissolve when in contact with these substances, and a clean, glossy clear coating is maintained.

At Pristine Detailing we are certified installers of Opti-Coat. Talk to us and learn about the guarantee of this amazing product. Protect your car, boat, or SUV. Bring back that shine and glimmer all year long. Click here to check out our web page.

Auto detailing: what level of finish does your car have? How can you test it?

Auto detailing: what level of finish does your car have

Our auto detailing services are not just a wash and wax of your car or truck. We take off the dirt that you can see and add a luster too. More importantly, we can influence the finish of your car by removing imperfections.

What are these imperfections?

Most commonly, they are surface issues with your paint. We have seen, even on brand new cars, that the finish feels rough. You can check this out yourself by running your palm along the surface of your car to different areas - the hood, the door, a fender. Do they feel the same? Many times they don't - even on expensive cars. Do they feel rough or smooth like paper?

We have different tools to read the surface of your paint. Ask us about these services when you call or stop by to make an appointment.

Detailing Our National Treasures: B-29 Superfortress

B-29 Superfortress
We detailed this B-29 bomber for free as our service to the community, plus it's a lot of fun.

The B-29 Superfortress is a four-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber designed by Boeing that was flown primarily by the United States toward the end of World War II and during the Korean War. It was one of the largest aircraft to see service during World War II and a very advanced bomber for its time, with features such as a pressurized cabin, an electronic fire-control system, and remote-controlled machine-gun turrets. The
We detail national treasures
name "Superfortress" was derived from that of its well-known predecessor, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Although designed as a high-altitude strategic bomber, and initially used in this role against the Empire of Japan, these attacks proved to be disappointing; as a result the B-29 became the primary aircraft used in the American firebombing campaign, and was used extensively in low-altitude night-time incendiary bombing missions. One of the B-29's final roles during World War II was carrying out the atomic bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
