What is Detailing? (Part II)

What is Detailing?
Give your vehicle the attention and care it deserves, we will help you.

Auto Polishing refers to using electric or pneumatic machine polishes, which can be rotary polishers which have a constant direct spinning action (direct drive) or dual action polisher (which uses a random orbital action plus rotary action) this is called forced rotation. Specific polishing pads (foam, wool or microfiber) remove microns of clear coat from a vehicle in order to remove fine scratches, swirls marks, oxidation and other imperfections from a paint surface produced from improper washing techniques, drying techniques and other possible causes.

Protecting involves the application of a clear coatings (in liquid form) that prevents foreign matter (contaminants, pollution) from adhering to the surface of your vehicle, including minerals in water, bugs splatter, tar, and dirt. Then using a sealant to help stop contaminants embedding back into your paintwork, windows, wheels and trim. A maintenance program will aid in longer protection for your vehicle.

Do you want a lasting finish on your car, boat, motorcycle, or truck? We have a ceramic clear coating available. We use a couple of methods and one will definitely fit your budget. Ask us about the different treatments we use and what you can expect in terms of lasting protection.

Interior detailing involves a deep cleaning of the whole interior as well as the boot of the car. All of the dash area, panels, windows, seats and carpets are cleaned extensively. Vacuuming is standard, and steam cleaning, liquid cleaners, and brushes may be used to remove stains on upholstery. Some nonporous surfaces may also be polished. Some detailers remove seats and other interior components to provide the most thorough clean possible.

Do you have a bad odor issue in your vehicle? We have a odor treatment that removes almost all "stinky issues" we have encountered. Ask about the odors we have seen.

We offer engine detailing, in which steam, high pressure water, degreasers and all-purpose cleaners are used to clean under the hood of the vehicle.

Headlight Restoration
One result of the normal wear and tear on your vehicle is a reduction of your headlight strength. That is to say, almost every vehicle we service has some level of headlight degradation: hazy headlights, foggy headlights, or cloudy headlights. We provide headlight restoration that restores your headlights to a clear and shiny look.

What is Detailing? (Part I)

What is Detailing?
Removing scratches and imperfections without expensive body work.
"Detailing" refers to the systematic cleaning, rejuvenating and protecting of the exterior painted surfaces of a vehicle. The primary purpose for paint detailing is to retain the appearance of newer vehicles or to revitalize older neglected vehicles.

Cleaning is a preparatory step intended to remove dirt, dust, and other loose contaminants in order to allow full inspection of current paint conditions. Rejuvenation refers to the processes used to return a vehicle to its original showroom condition. The extent of rejuvenation is dependent on the customerʼs expectations. Protection refers to the maintenance processes such as waxing that are used to keep the vehicle looking new for as long as possible after detailing.

Custom detailing
We tailor our services to fit each individual vehicle that arrives into our shop. Over the years we have worked on, in some cases literally restored, a spectrum of vehicles that include vintage vehicles, exotic cars, specialty vehicles, along with the normal commuter and family sedans and an assortment of commercial vehicles.

Exterior detailing
We provide comprehensive exterior detailing that involves cleaning and bringing back the shine and gloss to the car's paintwork, chrome trim, windows, wheels, and tires as well as all other visible components on the exterior of a vehicle. Different detailers use different products and techniques to do this. Products include but are not limited to detergents, degreasers, acid free, detail clay, waxes, polishes, and a variety of applicators, brushes and special plush drying towels. The main components of exterior car detailing are preparation, the right polishes, and protecting.

Cleaning refers to the removal of all foreign surface particles from exterior surfaces through the use of the right products for your vehicle, water and washing and claying. A clay bar helps to remove all contamination/dirt from the surface and embedded particles in the clear coat that cannot be removed through washing such as bugs, tar, sap, overspray, and so forth.

Aston Martin, An Exotic Car With A Vivid History

Aston Martin, An Exotic Car With A Vivid History
Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.

From 1994 until 2007, Aston Martin was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company, becoming part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group when it was formed in 2000. In March 2007, a consortium of investors led by Prodrive boss David Richards purchased 90% of Aston Martin for £479 million, with Ford retaining a £40 million stake. In December 2012, the Italian private equity fund Investindustrial signed a deal to buy 37.5% of Aston Martin, investing £150 million as a capital increase.

In 1947, tractor manufacturer David Brown Limited bought the company under the leadership of managing director Sir David Brown—its "post-war saviour". The company also acquired Lagonda that year for its 2.6-litre W. O. Bentley-designed engine. Both companies shared resources and workshops, birthing the classic "DB" series of cars. In 1950, the company announced the DB2, followed by the DB2/4 in 1953, the DB2/4 MkII in 1955, the DB Mark III in 1957 and the Italian-styled 3.7 L DB4 in 1958.

<< We do engine detailing and custom detailing. Ask us for more information. >>

Ford placed Aston in the Premier Automotive Group, invested in new manufacturing and ramped up production. In 1994, Ford opened a new factory at Banbury Road in Bloxham. In 1995, the company produced a record 700 vehicles. Until the Ford era, cars had been produced by hand coachbuilding craft methods, such as the English wheel. In 1998 the 2,000th DB7 was built, and in 2002 the 6,000th, exceeding production of all previous DB models. The DB7 range was boosted by the addition of V12 Vantage models in 1999, and in 2001 the company introduced the V12-engined Aston Martin Vanquish.

At the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in 2003, Aston Martin introduced the AMV8 Vantage concept car. Expected to have few changes before its introduction in 2005, the Vantage brought back the classic V8 engine to allow the company to compete in a larger market. 2003 also saw the opening of the Gaydon factory, the first purpose-built factory in Aston Martin's history. Also introduced in 2003 was the DB9 coupé, which replaced the ten-year-old DB7. A convertible version of the DB9, the DB9 Volante, was introduced at the 2004 Detroit Auto Show.
